Vice President of the Management Board and General Director of the F.B.I. TASBUD Dr Eng. Andrzej M. Czapczuk participated as an expert in a debate organized by the Building Research Institute (Instytut Techniki Budowlanej – ITB) devoted to the potential of Polish exports of construction products and services.

The event was started with the speech of Anna Kornecka – Deputy Minister of Development, Labor and Technology for construction, spatial planning and development and housing, referring to the Entrepreneur Week on June 21 – 25. The support for exports through tests, technical assessments and certificates was discussed by: Msc Anna Panek – Deputy Director for Technical Assessment and European Harmonization in ITB and Dr Eng. Krzysztof Kuczyński – Deputy Director for Research and Innovation in ITB.

The event was highlighted by the debate on “Opportunities and challenges of export from the point of view of Polish entrepreneurs” with the participation of Dr. Eng. Robert Geryło – Director of the Building Research Institute, Dr. Eng. Andrzej M. Czapczuk – Vice President of the Management Board of the F.B.I. TASBUD and the President of the Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters, Dr. Szymon Firląg – President of the Union of Employers of Producers of Materials for Construction, Janusz Komurkiewicz – President of the Management Board of the Polish Windows and Doors Association and a Member of the Management Board of FAKRO Sp. z o.o., Dr. Eng. Jacek Michalak – Vice President of the Management Board for Development, Atlas Sp. z o.o. and Dr. Eng. Sebastian Wall – President of the European Organization for Technical Assessment in ITB.

Experts discussed, among others on the demand for construction products in the European Union and the resulting opportunities for the export of products manufactured in Poland, including construction materials related to thermal modernization and window joinery.

About export, including one of the most difficult types of export of services – general contracting export, was told by Dr. Eng. Andrzej M. Czapczuk. Entering new, unknown markets requires long-term, often many years of preparation. One of the secrets of the success of the operations of the F.B.I. TASBUD abroad, including the demanding Scandinavian market, is to have an established, strong position on the domestic market.

When we exporting general contracting in Sweden, in addition to EU requirements, it is very important to meet all local conditions and standards. Activities on foreign markets also require the creation of appropriate structures in a given country, building a base, training employees, etc., which is a complicated and complex process. Nevertheless, as in the case of the Swedish joint-stock company wholly owned by the F.B.I. TASBUD International Group – TASBUD SVERIGE AB, it was a very interesting process, full of challenges and undoubtedly positively influencing the development and strength of the Group.

Vice President of the Management Board of the F.B.I. TASBUD also mentioned the popularity of prefabrication in Scandinavia. The success of the export of construction products to west markets is not always related to the low, competitive price of the product. Scandinavians require products of the highest quality that meet high pro-environmental standards. Such products are offered by the latest pro-ecological factory of modules and prefabricated elements in reinforced concrete and concrete technology, belonging to the F.B.I. TASBUD International Group.

At the end of the debate, the participants raised the topic of innovation, which is an added value and constitutes a competitive advantage of Polish exporters in the construction industry on foreign markets.
